Allow me to introduce you to Fons, the little fella on the left. Here in Leuven, Belgium, where Materialise is headquartered, he is well known and loved, and has been proudly standing in the center of the city since 1975. His full name is ‘Fons Sapientiae’ or ‘source of wisdom’ and he was designed by the Belgian sculptor Jef Claerhout. 

In honor of everything that Fons stands for and his importance in the city we call home, we have elected him to be our orthopaedic newsletter mascot.
